Emergency Eye Care
Conditions in which there is potential for loss of vision are defined as eye emergencies. Eye emergencies can happen at any time and it is important to recognize when immediate eye care is needed to prevent loss of vision. At Casper Vision Center we strive to be the eye care professionals you think of first when you have an eye emergency. Some common symptoms of eye emergencies in which you should call our office to get immediate care from one of our optometrists are the following:
If you or someone you know is experiencing any of these symptoms, or has had an eye injury, an immediate eye exam with one of our optometrists is important to ensure your vision is not compromised. Please call our office and explain your symptoms and what you think potentially caused your symptoms so we can get you into our office at the appropriate time. If one of our doctors is not available to assist you, please report to the nearest emergency room.
- Flashes of light
- Abnormal amount of floaters you usually don't see
- Appearance of "curtain" or "veil" coming over vision
- Sudden loss of part or all of your vision
- Unusual light sensitivity
- Double vision
- Chemicals exposed to eye(s)
- Trauma to eye(s) or around eye(s)
- Bulging eye
- Painful eye
- Presence of pus or crusting around your eye(s)
- Foreign body sensation in your eye(s)
- Sudden or unusually red eye(s)
